Information and Grand Cayman Facts
FAQ
Cico Avis
Rent-A-Car was first established in Grand Cayman in 1966 at
the Beach Club Colony Resort. We opened our Car Rental
Agency with 10 VW
Beetles.
You can
now find us in 5 locations across Grand Cayman, our fleet
has an average 325 vehicles consisting 5 different models,
makes and sizes.
Driving
in Grand Cayman is easy and safe, getting used to driving on
the left side of the road is easy. To make your Island
excursion even easier our cars can be rented with the
steering wheel on the left or right side of the vehicle.
All you have to do is ask.
A provisional
driving permit is required in order to legally drive
in the Cayman Islands. One will be issued to you upon
vehicle rental and will be valid for 6 months or until you
depart the Cayman Islands, which ever comes first.
You can
drive form one end of Grand Cayman to the other in less than
one hour, of course it depends on how many pictures you will
be taking during the drive.
Our road system is
the envy of the Caribbean, all roads are properly lit at
night and 95%+ of our roads are paved. The only few
roads not paved are the few newly developed private
secondary roads.
Parking is easily
found Island wide, even in George Town. Because of
it's "small nature", George Town allows you to park close to your
destination, no matter where it might be.
Cruise Ship
visitors can easily explore the all Island of Grand Cayman
with ease in just one day.
Most Cruise Ship
visitors opt to tour the East End of the Island and Rum
Point to avoid most of the crowds caused by, funny enough,
their own Cruise Ship mates.
Some of our
clients have been renting cars with us for over 25 years.
The Winter Season
is our "busy Season", cars should be reserved 6 months
in advance for Christmas, Spring Break and Easter weekend
from all rental agencies.
